Journey to Lake Toba

     Lake toba, is the largest year round lake in Southest Asia. Lake Toba is created by the massive Toba eruption that happened about 69,000–77,000 years ago. LakeToba is approximately 1707km long and 900 m above sea level. Lake Samosir island is bigest island in center of Lake Toba approximately 630 m2 as a bigest island whitin an island.

     ‘Horas’ is the traditional Batak greeting and it’s delivered with great gusto, as are a few glasses of Tuak (Palm Wine) to warm up the pipes for the music-loving Batak. Batak is used to refer the original resident of North Sumatra. The areas referred to as their country is stretching from Medan up to the areas around lake Toba and further South in Mandailing regency, the border of West and North Sumatra. Batak has four sub group those are Batak Karo, Batak Toba, Batak Mandailing, and Batak Simalungun. There is no physical and social differences, just a slight different in not visible behavior and dialect. Their different names refers the area where they live.

  •  Samosir Island  

     To reach Samosir island, we must to go across from Ajibata in Parapat to Tuk-tuk is Approximately 60 minutes by boat, or use  main road from Pangururan.  Whatever the choice, we shall find different attractionboth of them. We can also go to the other place suck as Tomok,
    Ambarita, etc.

    Sigale-gale (Samosir)


     Sigale Gale is a wooden puppet from the Batak people of Samosir Island, Northern Sumatra. Sigale Gale is a well known feature to tourists who visit the island and see it dance. During the dance, the puppet is operated from behind using strings that run through the ornate wooden platform that it stands on enabling it to move its arms and body as well as turn its head. There are a few versions of Sigale Gale in existence but the main one sits outside one of the many traditional Batak style houses in Tomok Village, Samosir Island.

    •  Bakkara
    Bakkara is a place where a Batak King lives (Sisingamangaraja). Bakara have much beautiful place to viewed,  besides that Bakara was to be historic for Bataks people. We able to looking the historical ruins of dynasty of Sisingamangaraja suck as Sisingamangaraja Palace, Batu Siungkap-ungkapon, a cane of Sisingamangaraja / tongkat Sisingamngaraja ( not in literal), Tombak Sulu-sulu, Footprint Sisingamangaraja elephant, and many more.

     Muara has a potential a tourism that i have been to visit, unfortunately too little observe from local government.

    These places only a part from a lot of many location in nort Sumatera, There's many beautiful place that you should to see such as Lauser National park, Salib Kasih in Tarutung, Sipiso-piso water fall, Berastagi, Balige, Humbo batu in Nias  island, and many more.
